Not that I saw anyone quote me on that forum, but aparently we're all dickheads, wankers and idiots  Thumbsup

As for the comments about clueless people here. I think it seems they have more then their fair share too. Like the guy quoting about the Swift? "It has less power then the sportivo but he says it is a hothatch?" Umm, there is a thing called weight. Cars that weigh less dont need more power. The Swift isnt a heavy car and is in the smaller class with the Fiesta and Yaris. eg: Lotus Elise has same engine as you guys now. Yet, it can run with some big time heavy hitters? Why? Weight.

There is one thing about being passionate, then there is just being plain stupid. I am seeing too much of the later on both forums at the moment on this topic.

Thanks for you're comments eatV8, as the instigator of the thread on the TOC forums please understand that it wasn't my intention to have insults thrown at you. I have a keen interest in all cars within the hot hatch segment & have driven my fair share but I know little in comparison to guys like Northy & Xoom when it comes to the Sportivo. As you can now see, these guys have some really valuable info. re. these cars and are sharing it with us all & that was my original intention. We all get very passionate about our cars (thats why we're reading this) & there's always going to be someone who takes it too far.

No problem. The threads (both here and the Rolla forums) have given me a good laugh.   LoL There is some people who have some good points to make then some are just jumping on the bandwagon with idiotic comments.

I have never said anything saying the Corolla Sportivo didn't have potential, my original thread which ignited all this was about a real high performance hatch out of the box. Something with big power and torque and knife edge handling right off the showroom floor. A friend of mine back there in Au had a Sportivo, it was a great little car, and with minor mods to suspension, abit of free breathing for the engine and some decent rubber really made the car come alive.

I erge more of the Rolla forum to join and enjoy a forum for all hot hatches. Take part in all threads not just Toyota based ones.

Not everyone is going to like what you like, or agree with what you have to say. However, if you keep your cool, post in a professional manner and post with thought (name calling is NEVER a good start), people may still not believe or like what you do however what they do gain (usually) is respect for you.

I learnt a long time ago to not give two shits what other people think of my car(s)  Thumbsup

btw, both corollas posted in pics look great. Glad to see there is still people back in AU who realise big heavy chrome wheels are not a performance mod  LoL
